Sandra's experiences in Ghana, June 2021
Sandra has long wanted to address an issue that orphans in Africa never experience; a basic health exam. After two years of planning, it finally begins in her home country of Ghana, West Africa. As a one time orphan herself, Sandra has great empathy for children who never get a basic health exam. 1st day ... 174 young people arrive for what is billed as a 'Fun Day.' Fun for them but exhausting for Sandra, volunteers, and the medical staff.

Delivering Christmas baskets to Lakeview Elementary
Thanks to the generosity of our congregation and the good work of our deacons, thirty-one Christmas Food Baskets were delivered on Monday, December 16, to Lakeview School in Hoffman Estates. Through our on-going partnership with Mariano's Store #8506 at Golf & Barrington Roads, and Mike, the Manager, Lindsey, Assistant Manager, and Mindy, we were able to procure the baskets and provide dinner for Lakeview families. The baskets were accepted by Beth Urbach, the Lakeview School principal, Kelly Pietryla, the assistant principal and Priscilla, the School social worker. They expressed their gratitude for the baskets on behalf of the families that would receive them. Special thanks to Ann Moorman for doing the behind-the-scenes coordination, as well as to Karen Franz, Bob Lovell and Judie Truelsen for helping to transport and deliver the baskets.

Feed my Starving Children event, February 2018
A special thanks from Youth Sunday School members. The turn-out for the Feed My Starving Children volunteer event was amazing! We assembled sufficient food packets to feed 93 children for an entire year! Good work for less than 90 minutes on our feet. The meals will be shipped to the island of Madagascar, where a heartbreaking 70 percent of the country’s 19 million people lives in extreme poverty. Please click HERE to read more about how Feed My Starving's packaged meals are distributed to needy children in Madagascar.

Public Action to Deliver Shelter (P.A.D.S.)
Friday, April 21st, several people from COTC participated in providing a Mexican themed supper to the P.A.D.S. site at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 920 W. Higgins Rd, Schaumburg. Many more people will have provided enough food to feed those staying at the shelter for the night.
If you are helping this ministry in any way, Thank You, for participating in the vital ministry of feeding the hungry as our Lord call us to.
If you have not helped for this particular ministry of COTC, PRAY today, right this moment for the people who will be receiving this meal. Our Lord calls upon all of us to support these members of Christ’s family and prayer is a vital aspect of our support for each of them.
'Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? … And the king will answer them, 'Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.' Matthew 25:37, 40
